Guideline Arctic Glacier wading socks

This wool sock is designed for cold water fishing. A natural quality of wool fibre is that it stays warm even when damp due to condensation. The use of terry loops on the inside gives the sock a layer of insulation/ventilation of air between the feet and the shoe. It can be used as a single sock , but also as an additional layer together with a thinner liner sock.

  • Color: Stone Grey/Charcoal
  • Knitted from 50% wool, 30% acrylic, 10% polyamide, 7% polyester and 3% elastane
  • Sizes: 39-42 (US6-9), 43-46 (US10-13)
  • Recycled paper in tags/packaging
  • Oeko-tex certified

Wearing warm socks inside your waders when fly fishing is essential for several reasons. First, fishing in cold water can quickly lower your body temperature, and warm socks act as a barrier against the cold. They provide insulation, preventing heat loss from your feet and ensuring you remain comfortable and safe in cold water environments.

Secondly , warm socks help maintain circulation. Cold water can constrict blood vessels, reducing blood flow to the feet. Wearing insulated socks improves circulation, ensuring your feet receive adequate oxygen and nutrients, which are essential for comfort and prevention of frostbite. Wearing warm socks inside your waders helps keep your body warm overall . Cold feet can cause discomfort and distraction. Keeping your feet warm will improve your overall comfort and concentration while you’re in the water.
