PIKE STREAMER | PREDATORY FLIES

View as

Fly fishing for pike is becoming more and more popular, also thanks to the many possibilities of different techniques and baits. Enthusiasts are hunting the predator via the Belly Boat, from the shore or with the boat. As bait, pike streamers, tube flies, poppers or imitations of frogs or mice are used. A highly catching bait is the Wiggle Tail Pike Streamer. In this category we offer a wide selection of streamers for predators, and you will surely find the right bait for you!

It is often no longer enough to fish for this predator with a classic streamer because it is proving to be more and more daring. That is why we offer the latest pike fly patterns - developed, tied and successfully tested by pike fly anglers - Paolo Pacchiarini, Niklas Bauer and Dougie Loughridge to name a few. As standard pike streamers we have some classics like the Rabbit Strip Diver Streamer, Stripped Perch or the classic pike fly Grizzly Pike. If you are passionate about pike fishing, you know that pike is a cantankerous fish and therefore not easy to outwit with these "classic" streamers. You have to go for other modern streamer types like the Clydesdale Pike Flies series from the fly tyer of the same name Clydesdale Paul, or the Dougie`s Roach and Dougie`s Perch patterns. On some days a bulky pike streamer like Sparkler can give you the necessary success.

When fishing for pike with pike flies it is important to maintain patience and perseverance, and if necessary fall back on baits such as the popular PIKE TUBE FLIES, because they have a considerable size of 25 or 35 cm, and at certain times they can bring the predator into a frenzy and trigger the bites. Of course no streamer fly box should be without wiggle tail streamers, pike poppers and mouse imitations.

The "how" to fish is clear to most fly fishermen, but the "with what" is often much debated. Therefore, we advise for pike fly fishing - never use streamers that are too small or tackle that is too weak! The right steel leader is also very important and should never be too weak. In most cases we use tungsten leaders with a breaking load of at least 10 kg.
