FLY ROD | Nymph, Dry, Trout, Pike, Bass & Sea

Sometimes it can be very difficult to make the right choice when buying a fly rod and not be disappointed. In this category you will find a wide range of single-handed and double-handed fly rods from various manufacturers and types. We offer branded products such as Cortland, Orvis, Vision, Guideline, Echo, Loomis & Franklin, Traper, Hanak, Shakespeare, Smart Fishing and many others that cannot be missed. To meet the various needs we offer fly rods made of carbon, carbon fiber and fiberglass.

Basically, rods are different and are divided into two types. On one hand, the one-handed fly rod and on the other, the two-handed fly rod.
Single handed fly rods:
Standard single-handed rods range in length from 6 to 11 feet (1.80mt-3.30mt.) and are divided into classes #2 - #11. Fly rods from 6 to 8 feet with #2 to #4 lines are used in small mountain streams fishing with dry flies or small nymphs.

Rods from 8 to 9 feet in class #5 - #6 are the all-round rods and ideal for the beginner. They allow you to cast both dry flies, nymphs and streamers.

The 9 to 10 foot rod series in the # 5 - # 7 class are not only used for lake fishing, they also have an additional advantage in larger rivers. They easily cast heavy nymphs and streamers at distance.

For light fishing for salmon and pike, 9-11 foot rods in the #8-#12 class are used, which can easily cast large streamers on a sinking line. The saltwater fly fisherman uses 9-11 foot rods in the #8-#12 class. Fly fishing enthusiasts for large tuna go up to the #14 class.

Two-handed rods:
Two-handed rods are used for traditional salmon fishing. The name already reveals the handling of this fly rod, they are always casted with two hands. With these rods you can present flies at a distance without much effort. Ideal for fishing in large rivers. The characteristic of these rods is the "Full-Wels" handle which is found in the majority on two-handed rods.

The actions of the different rods are distinguished by the various manufacturers and materials that are used to make fly rods. Different basic materials from which the blank is made give the final result of the various actions. The program ranges from very soft fly rods to extremely fast rod series. Today, fly rods are almost exclusively made of carbon fiber or toray carbon. These have a medium to fast action. Beginners and more experienced anglers alike appreciate these modern fly rods.

The various actions:
Parabolic action (soft and slow fly rod)
These rods bend all the way to the butt. To cast accurately, a very slow cast is necessary. This typical parabolic action is increasingly found in fiberglass fly rods such as the Echo "GLASS" series of rods. In action, this fishing rod looks like a bamboo fly rod.

Semi-parabolic action (medium speed fly rod)
These rods bend about three-quarters of the way down the rod at the butt. This is the “all-round” action with the ability to fish with wet or dry flies. A great choice for beginners, but of course also for experienced anglers who will appreciate this action.

Fast or extra fast action (fast to very fast fly rod)
These rods have a harder blank and only bend in the first quarter of the rod, mostly in the tip. These rods are designed for fast and long range casting. However, we recommend these rods for more experienced casters who have experience with the fast action and its easy handling.
