    Care and use

    • Do not remove the drag knob or the two‑holed nut in its center.
    • Always ensure the Gland Cap is firmly hand‑tight, especially before first use or after reversing retrieve direction.
    • Do not lubricate the drag; it is designed to run dry. A small amount of WD‑40 may be used on the handle only to clear dirt.
    • Freshwater use: rinse thoroughly under fresh running water and wipe reel, spool and spindle clean.
    • Saltwater use: rinse under fresh running water after every outing. Occasionally rinse the drag by removing the spool, unscrewing the Gland Cap, removing the red and silver clutch assembly, rinsing all parts and the drag cylinder interior, then allow to dry completely before reassembly.
