Orvis Battenkill Disc Reel – Mid Arbor Fly Reel
The Orvis Battenkill Disc Reel in color copper pairs the classic Battenkill profile with a Hydros SL disc drag. Its precision-machined 6061-T6 aluminium construction and Mid Arbor spool support smooth line retrieval and progressive control when playing fish.
Hydros SL disc drag
The Hydros SL disc drag uses six friction surfaces made from carbon and stainless steel. Its smooth response helps control running fish, while click settings on the drag knob make it easier to set the desired resistance.
6061-T6 aluminium and a ported spool
The 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminium construction combines low weight with rigidity. Manufacturing tolerances support smooth operation. Porting reduces spool weight and reflects the traditional Battenkill design.
The Mid Arbor design helps with line retrieval and reduces the tendency for the line to form tight coils.
Reversible retrieve and practical details
The reel converts between left- and right-hand retrieve. An ergonomic Delrin handle provides a comfortable grip. The curved reel foot allows the leader to be wrapped temporarily without creating unwanted kinks.
Three sizes for freshwater fishing
Size II is intended for line weights #3–5, weighs 139 g and has a diameter of 76 mm. Size III covers #5–7, weighs 150 g and measures 83 mm in diameter. Size IV is intended for #7–9, weighs 162 g and has a diameter of 91 mm.
The range offers options for trout fishing, streamer fishing and other freshwater techniques. Spare spools are available separately. Product code: 3FTJ. The product is imported.
