Orvis PRO Wading Boots with Michelin® Rubber Soles
The Orvis PRO Wading Boots are designed for fly fishing in rivers and streams. Their rubber outsoles, developed with Michelin®, reinforced construction and anatomical foot support are suited to rocky riverbeds and long walks along the bank.
The Michelin® Outdoor Extreme outsole combines a specialist rubber compound with a tread inspired by Michelin® tyre technology. An enlarged contact area and the tread-block geometry help distribute pressure, improve stability and absorb impacts. The sole has 12 mounting points for optional wading studs.
According to tests reported by Orvis, the outsole provides 25% greater abrasion resistance and 43% greater wet traction than the competing products used in the tests. These figures refer to that manufacturer comparison.
The quick-drying Clarino® microfibre upper is lightweight and durable. A moulded polyurethane (PU) construction eliminates seams in areas most exposed to wear. Abrasion-resistant rubber reinforcements protect the toes and heels from contact with rocks and submerged obstacles.
The anatomically shaped, 3D-moulded OrthoLite® X25 footbed provides arch support and cushioning. The high-density Phylon midsole with an ESS plate absorbs impacts, improves torsional stability and helps secure optional studs.
The high-cut design supports the ankle. Closed-cell foam padding reduces water absorption and promotes faster drying. High-density, abrasion-resistant laces and a large rear pull tab complete the boots and make them easier to put on and take off.
