The Simms Scout Hip Pack Black Magic is a compact yet rugged hip/sling pack, tailored for fly fishing, outdoor adventures, or any situation where lightness, accessibility, and organization matter.

The pack is made from Challenger Sailcloth, 100 % recycled polyester, built for durability and resistance. The main storage compartment includes a divider and fits fly or tackle boxes up to approximately 10 inches (≈ 25 cm) in length. The front pass-through pocket with a YKK AquaGuard waterproof zipper allows quick access; there’s also a drop-in pocket with another AquaGuard zipper and a key clip, so essential items are secured.

One of the standout features is the Fidlock magnetic buckle, which self‑finds and allows one‑hand operation—great when one hand is wet, cold, or busy. The waist belt and back panel are structured to provide comfort and support whether the pack is worn around the waist or as a sling. Low‑profile webbing on the belt offers attachment points for tools or accessories. A top lid with a cinch cord is perfect for stashing a rain jacket quickly. The top handle doubles as a net holder when used as a hip pack.

The fabric has a C0 water-repellent finish (no fluorocarbons), AquaGuard zippers for water protection, and is environmentally conscious: over 20 plastic bottles are recycled into each yard of fabric; the face and backing are fully recycled polyester.
