Simms Taco Bag Simms Orange – The right bag for waders and boots
The Simms Taco Bag in the unmistakable Simms Orange colour is the large-format round bag designed for the safe, hygienic, and organised transport and storage of wet, muddy waders and wading boots. Made by Simms Fishing Products – America's benchmark brand in professional fly fishing – the Taco Bag solves one of the most common problems for the fly fisher: how to manage wet gear after the session, in the car, at the lodge, or while travelling.
The circular design with a perimeter YKK® zip allows the bag to open completely like a book – just like a taco – offering full access and making it easy to load and unload even bulky waders and boots. Thanks to its generous capacity, it can hold up to 2 pairs of stockingfoot waders and 2 pairs of wading boots. The mesh vent panels promote air circulation, preventing mould and unpleasant odours. The 600-denier nylon shell with PU coating ensures durability and water resistance for intensive long-term use.

FAQ
▸ How many waders and wading boots does the Taco Bag hold?
The Simms Taco Bag is designed to hold up to 2 pairs of stockingfoot waders and 2 pairs of wading boots simultaneously. Its generous dimensions (41 × 102 × 18 cm) make it the ideal solution for river guides, fishing groups, and all those managing multiple complete wading gear sets.
▸ Do the mesh vent panels really prevent mould?
Yes. The mesh vent panels of the Simms Taco Bag are designed to promote air circulation around wet waders and boots, significantly reducing the risk of mould and unpleasant odour formation. For best results, we recommend not sealing the bag completely airtight during transport and opening it as soon as possible to further promote drying.
▸ Is the 600D nylon with PU coating suitable for intensive use?
Absolutely. 600-denier nylon with polyurethane (PU) coating is a high-quality technical fabric known for its excellent abrasion, tear, and water resistance. It is the ideal material for a bag that must repeatedly withstand the weight and abrasion of muddy, wet wading boots over time.
▸ How does the perimeter YKK® zip work?
The perimeter YKK® zip of the Simms Taco Bag runs along the entire circumference of the bag, allowing it to open completely into two halves like a book. This design provides full and easy access to the contents, making loading and unloading bulky waders and boots extremely simple and quick even with wet hands or gloves.
▸ Is the Taco Bag suitable for air travel?
Yes. The Simms Taco Bag is an excellent solution for transporting waders and wading boots in the aircraft hold during fishing trips. Its compact dimensions (41 × 102 × 18 cm) and robust construction make it suitable for air travel as hold baggage. We recommend ensuring waders and boots are well dried before boarding and checking your airline's weight restrictions.
