- A small amount of WD-40 may be used on the retrieve handle to clear dirt between handle and shaft.
- Freshwater use: occasionally rinse thoroughly under fresh running water and wipe spool, frame, and spindle.
- Saltwater use: rinse the reel under fresh running water after every use in salt environments. To rinse the drag occasionally: remove the spool, unscrew the Gland Cap, remove the red and silver clutch assembly, rinse all components including inside the drag cylinder, and allow to dry completely before reassembly.
